Just to tell you a little bit about myself:
I love to write, read, do crafts, do genealogy, and play ice hockey. I am a pharmaceutical research scientist at a small University, but I'm also getting my Masters in Library Sciences with a concentration in Archives and Record Management.
I've been in North Carolina for 15 years and doing genealogy research for the past 7 years. I do most of my research at the North Carolina State Archives for the Brooks and Godwin families of Caswell, Randolph and Sampson Counties. My other locality research interests are in Arkansas, Putnam Co., IN and Perry Co., IL. If you would like assistance locating records at the Archives, please feel free to email me.
I mainly use this blog as a genealogy journal highlighting research updates on my Godwin family as well as updates on DNA testing of various Godwin families throughout the country. So far we have compiled a list of about 10 genetically related Godwin families that derived from North Carolina and are currently working on supporting this with a paper trail.
The other blog I author is called The Brooks and Williams Families of North Carolina at Wordpress and discusses research of the Brooks and Williams and allied Lea, Graves, Rice, and Kerr Families of Caswell County, North Carolina.
Please feel free to look around and be sure to check out my Surname page to see if we have any relatives in common!
